Traumatic experiences impact our body and instinct before our mind, thoughts and emotions. Trauma and anxiety have become so commonplace that most of us don’t even recognise it, but each of us has had a traumatic experience at some point in our lives.
The use of a somatic approach with talking therapy such as psychotherapy helps support our mind and body’s innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself from trauma and anxiety. By sensing tensions in the body and releasing them in a supported way we can help resolve overwhelm both mental and physical, as well as helping to reduce day to day stress.
Working with the body during talking therapy can enable better processing and understanding of our problems and enable increased clarity and an overall feeling of well-being.
So please just let me know if you are interested in including this in your psychotherapy sessions with me.
